DKODING सुई धागा : A tale tailor-made for New India

Sui Dhaga is more than about a talented and earnest small town salesman Mauji (played with maturity by Varun Dhawan) and his demure but strong willed wife Mamta (played with flourish by Anushka Sharma) starting up their dream venture. It’s about Bollywood starting up a bold new template of socially relevant themes, real-as-next-door characters and de-glam stars. Director’s actor Varun Dhawan is retrained, balanced and spontaneous. Anushka Sharma delivers another robust performance. And even side characters - Raghubir Yadav(father) and Abha Parmar (mother) add to the texture of the narrative. Which may be a littlestraight forward and without too many twists. But the actors – and the screenwriter – ensureyou don’t notice the little drawbacks, but the big picture.
Which – when you add a breezy listof songs - is honest, engaging and entertaining. Not to mention inspiring, if you happen to bea new generation Indian with a dream that’s ‘Made in India’. Dkoding’s verdict on Sui-Dhagais: Tailor-made for fun-family-viewing.
