Tips for Planning Your Social Posts NOW So You Can Enjoy the Holidays! | FITBIZPIRATION #22

I'm going to share with you a really simple guide for planning your social media posts now so that you can relax during the holiday season.
**Welcome to 5 Minutes of Fitbizpiration where every week I share with you bite sized business tips in around 5 minutes**
What I'm going to take you through today is something that you really should be doing all of the time. Being a good business owner is not just about working hard all year, it is about knowing when to take time off and when to relax. Planning ahead will help you do that.
I'm going to share a really simple guide and some really straightforward tips that you can use now to get yourself organized for the holiday season or for anytime that you need to take a break.
Step 1
Write down the dates that you are going to take off work whether you're going to just relax or go away on holiday. For example you wanted to take a break between December 24th and January 7th, for that 2 week period. Now add one week before hand and one week after. So we've gone from having a 2-week block to having a 4-week block. The reason why you extend the time period is because you know how busy you are in the lead up to the holiday. You also don't want to get back and have to jump straight on social and start creating content.
The idea of doing this whole plan ahead is so that you have peace of mind that you have social media content going out to your members and clients without you having to worry about doing it on the go.
Step 2
Work out one theme and one theme only. One of the problems that we face when we are creating our social media content is that there are so many things to talk about, great stories and so much content to put out there, that it can become overwhelming. So for the purpose of this plan I want you to choose one theme only. That theme might be a member spotlight, healthy holiday foods, staying active during the holidays, training tips, workout of the day. Anything at all but just choose one.
Let's say we choose "Member Spotlight" as our example.
Step 3
Work out how many posts you want to post for the time period that you are going to be away. For example if you are happy to post 3 times a week over that 4 week period which will be a total of 12 posts.
In your excel spread sheet create 12 cells. Keeping this formula really simple, I want you to create the first one as a template. We are using member spotlight as an example, so you want to put first of all your member name, second a member photo like a photo of your member training. The third thing is recognize why it is that they are being featured in this member spotlight. It might be that they've achieved a personal best, completed a race, completed a challenge...whatever it might be pop that into the cell as well. And last thing you want to do is acknowledge them "Awesome work this year Sara, you should feel so proud of what you're doing...etc"
So that is your template to do the other 11 posts that you are doing.
Step 3
Preschedule your content. If you are posting onto Facebook we are going to take that content out of excel spreadsheet and put it into facebook. If you want to go on other social media platforms like Instagram or Twitter, then you would want to use a third-party social media scheduler tools such Hootsuite or CoSchedule which is what we use.
